NEW MESH IMPROVES QUALITY FOR LARGE FORMAT
SCREEN PRINTING

G Bopp & Co
Ltd has announced the availability of a new, thinner mesh developed by Swiss
specialists Sefar to meet the specific needs of the large format screen printing
industry, including posters, architectural glass, textile transfer and point of
sale.
This new high modulus polyester mesh provides high tension values and reduced
tension loss, offering excellent dimensional stability and superior process
reliability for perfect stencils.
The mesh is designed using finer threads and larger, regular mesh openings,
allowing for more uniform ink deposits, finer colour graduation, sharper edged
fine lines and screen dots and therefore optimum levels of resolution.

High resistance to tearing, minimal elongation and slower tension loss after
stretching enables the stencil to be used more often and for longer print runs.
Key operational benefits from the new mesh include improvements in overall
screen strength and ink flow, together with notable reductions in moiré and
ghosting.
Significantly, LFM makes printing black as the last colour on a four colour
process more straightforward, as the thinner mesh makes it easier to bring black
ink into contact with the substrate
During the production process, the mesh is coated with a storage-resistant
emulsion which is protected by a sturdy foil, rationalising and simplifying
pre-press operations.

EXPANDED RANGE OF ALUMINIUM
FRAMES FROM HURTZ
To utilise
the full potential of today’s high tension mesh products, highly stable frames
are required for the screen printing process. Modern techniques such as
automatic coating machines, direct projection and CTS systems demand stable,
flat frames to achieve optimum results.
In line with these requirements, Hurtz continues to extend its established
Slope-Profile frames with a number of additions to the range. These special
profiles have been developed for screen printing frames in the two to five meter
range.
Hurtz has been seen as the screen printer’s problem solver for decades. The
company offers an extensive range of aluminium Profi-profiles for screen
printing frames. Even frames up to eight metres in length present no problems
for the specialists.
Despite their stability, Hurtz Slope Profile frames are easy to handle, as their
development philosophy is built on the maximum strength, minimum weight
approach.
What’s more, the Slopes are more durable than other frame profiles, and cleaning
the frames is simpler and more thorough because of the sloping inner angles. In
washing off machines, ingress of cleaning materials is negligible.
Hurtz offers screen printers optimum accuracy in terms of correct frame choice,
using dedicated software programs to calculate exactly how each individual frame
profile - taking into account necessary tensioning, frame size, style of profile
and maximum warp tolerance - will distort in the printing process.
Today,
using this software, Hurtz can select the correct profile from the company’s
wide range of special profiles developed exclusively for the screen printing
industry. The company can also calculate in advance the predicted curvature of
frame members for all frame sizes and profiles.
Hurtz offer as many different frame profiles as there are applications in the
screen printing industry. Hurtz frames are available in the UK through mesh
specialists G Bopp & Co Ltd, whose dedicated screen printing division offers
full technical support coupled with an in-depth understanding of the intricate
relationship between frame and screen.

DEDICATED SINTERED FILTER PLATE REPAIR SERVICE
FROM BOPP
G Bopp & Co Ltd, manufacturers of precision wire meshes and fabrications for
filtration applications, have extended the scope of their services with the
introduction of a dedicated repair facility for sintered plate filters used
predominantly in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Sintered filter plates perform a
range of demanding tasks in these industries, and downtime for repairs can be
costly in terms of both materials and lost production.
Bopp’s new service provides an
expert repair facility, carried out on-site wherever possible, designed to
ensure the equipment is up and running to specification quickly and reliably.
All repairs are carried out using precision, high quality sintered materials
produced in Switzerland by parent company G Bopp & Co AG.
